Throughout all of my blog posts you will probably find the common sentiment of “I’ve never before…” or “this is the first time that I…” You will also notice that I will often have to push through a fear or other hang up in order to be successful at many of the adventures. So hear we go…
A week or so prior to the Toone Family Reunion, Bree mentioned that she would be biking a lot up in the mountains of Idaho. Me, being the avid walk along side while my friends rode their bikes sort of gal for all of my formative years, assured her that this would be fine and I would busy myself with other items…probably like reading or something crazy like that. Upon further discussion it was decided that the dirt road outside the cabin was the perfect spot for an adult beginner. There was plenty of space and very few people who actually would know me. So Bree went to some place that refurbishes old bikes and bought me this butte!
That’s right a classic purple beach comber. Yes, you are seeing right it does have mountain bike tires not comber tires (is that what you would call them?) I like to call it an upgrade. Bree had to struggle a bit to get it on the rack for the transport to the cabin but it all worked out. No I have been on a bike before, I just have never REALLY rode one more that about 2 times in my life when other people have tried to teach me. This time through with a little help from Bree, a few other of the Toone company, and of course my trusty KEENS, I was in business.
I went up and down that dirt rode a few times. Bree was sooo jealous of my fancy bike (all she had was her pricey mountain bike) that she wanted to try it out. Wouldn’t you know in two pedals she had broken my chain…adventure ended…But not be fore my trusty KEENS gave me the power to dominate on that bike!
Thanks KEENS!
